Doula

To support, educate and advocate.

What does a birth doula do?

Pregnancy, giving birth, and the postpartum period can be demanding, challenging, and overwhelming but it doesn’t have to be. Are you looking for personalized support throughout your journey? With the right care, information, advocacy and preparation you can enter parenthood on a good foundation. A doula acts as a trained and trusted companion to help create positive and empowering experiences.

Packages

  • Virtual -8500kr/ $850

Connection from home—five 75-minute video calls to review pregnancy challenges, birth preferences, and preparation for the postpartum period. We walk through various scenarios to help with personal advocacy. With all packages, I will cater specifically to your changing needs. Here we decide if the birthing person needs extra care or if the support person can benefit from information and practices. Whatever your experience, we find a way forward that feels good.

  • Oh Baby -18500kr/$1,850

For those seeking a doula to be present at birth. Together we have two 60-minute prenatal meetings where we start with a check-in and then cover birth-related questions or complications. Here we meet virtually or in person and discuss how to support the birthing person. We also use a portion of this time to make a postpartum plan to set you up for success. By exploring your goals we then find solutions to match them. This option includes one pregnancy massage, on-call 24/7 two weeks before the estimated due date, and being present for active labor and birth. I ensure a backup doula if desired for birth. After birth, we meet once for 2-hours where we might discuss the birth, or I offer breastfeeding support or safe sleep information.

  • Care Package -25000kr/$2,500

This is a perfect option for those who are having their first baby or if you have experienced loss or trauma in the past. Here I support you with weekly check-ins starting from week 15. We take time to cover childbirth education so you know what to expect and can feel what your preferences are. As your body begins to change I show up with the physical support of pregnancy massage where you can find ease and relaxation, I also share yoga practices and affirmations that you can practice on your own. If struggles arise I come with suggested reflections to help move emotions and stuck energy. I provide a guide to explore what you want your birth to look like and help you best express those wishes in your birth letter. I will be there for active labor and birth and offer a backup doula as desired. When you're ready to meet I come to your home and offer two hours, here you might want to nap, shower, discuss the birth, or ask some newborn questions! Finally, I offer one postpartum massage to help ground you back into your body, I recommend this to be within the first two months after your baby arrives!

Who am I?

I am an open, calm, optimistic, and thoughtful person. I have a positive outlook on birth and I am passionate about ensuring that your wishes are respected. I am comfortable with silence, take a hands-on approach, and have been told I have a soothing voice. I show up as supportive, grounded, and warm. For me, it’s important to be forward, honest and bridge any gaps in expectations. I meet people where they are.

I am a daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt and friend. I have taught yoga for over 12 years, and work as a massage therapist with over 10 years of experience. I am a mother, wife, dog mama, and lover of nature, music, travel, art, dance, and delicious healthy food. I enjoy fantasy novels, gardening, making beverages, and anything with water.

My journey as a doula started with the pregnancy of my now two-year-old. It was a challenging pregnancy, and I often felt alone in my experience. The birth was empowering and life-changing. The care and support of my partner, amazing midwives, and being held in the heart of my family members helped me feel secure in the long process. Postpartum has been a beautiful rollercoaster. My experiences helped me become the person I wish I had throughout the whole process. I am trained through Doula Trainings International.
